Kept: A Little Sigh at the End of the Day

There’s a moment at the end of a long day when I finally let my shoulders settle, take a deep breath, and begin to slow down. To me, that is the feeling of Kept.

I usually introduce my balms by talking about their ingredients, their texture, or the way they feel on the skin. I love those things about Kept, too. But this time, I want to tell you about the part I keep coming back to: its scent.

Kept relaxing bedtime tallow balm from Still Waters Homestead, with the words A little care. A quiet moment.

If I could bottle that fragrance in a way that let me carry it with me all day, I would. Every day. That may sound a little dramatic, but it’s true.

It is soft and comforting, with a warmth that makes me want to close my eyes and breathe it in again. I find myself bringing my hands back toward my face for one more quiet breath. For me, it is a little sigh at the end of the day.

Kept closes out the Sabbath Collection. The collection’s landscapes carry us from the first light of morning into the quiet of evening, and Kept belongs in that final, restful place.

I wanted it to feel like an invitation to pause. A little care for your skin. A quiet moment for yourself. A reminder that the work of the day can be set down.

The words on its lid point to the heart behind its name:

“Come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

As evening comes, may you breathe a little deeper and remember that you, too, are held. You are loved.

You are Kept.
